Suggestion for the B-Block team: In thinking about how to design a new system for the school and the loading dock, you should send a couple of students to go check out the system at Newton South High School. See what the other school does. Ideally, they could get a "tour" by a custodian or a well-informed South student. -Sam G.
Just so we know...we're having another mini not-so-board meeting in both classes tomorrow! (we'll work on a timeline)
ALSO, don't forget to add your friends to the survey!!
Next meeting -- Next Thursday X block (10/20)
To Do:
Design a short questionnaire for the mini maker faire (Next time B block and C block meets)
Researchers aren't just researches, builders aren't just builders: we should be doing both! For example, when we push around the recycling bins, we should be gathering data. (B block and C block)
Start exploring City Hall and Waste Management--look around the websites, etc. Post anything we figure out here! (C block can handle this)
Keep an eye on both surveys (student and teachers) -- invite friends to the survey!!! (B block and C block)
Custiodian interviews -- Mapping out where the recycling bins should go on each floor/ different types, the flow of the building...(B block can handle interviews and "mapping")
I found another person:
So, Michael Cronin is Chief of Operations for the Newton Public Schools system. Well, the operations department has 3 sub-departments: Support Services, Food Services, and Environmental Affairs. This woman is the director of that third division.
